Blackhawks

Healthy Havlat getting his shots in When Martin Havlat arrived with the Blackhawks after a trade with Ottawa, he was counted on to be their go-to guy offensively, and in his first season he certainly was that. Scoring 57 points in 56 games, he was basically the only offense the Hawks had.

So far, a nice road grip The Dallas Stars -- and their goaltender, Marty Turco, in particular -- had been brutal against the Blackhawks, especially at American Airlines Center. The Hawks were 1-8-2 with one tie on the Stars' home ice since 2001-02, and Turco owned a 14-2-1 career record against the Hawks going into the second game of the Hawks' six-game road trip Thursday night.

All signs point to Blackhawks' trade for Nylander

DALLAS -- The Blackhawks have been trying to trade for a veteran center since the season started, and they might be on the brink of finally pulling it off.

Hawks deny trade for Caps' Nylander

DALLAS -- The Blackhawks have been working to trade for a veteran center since the season started, and they might be on the brink of finally pulling it off. Hawks' Johnson quite an addition The Blackhawks aren't into individual statistics. They're just trying to stay in playoff position as they enter Game 2 of their six-game trip tonight against the Dallas Stars. There's one individual stat that's intriguing, though. Defenseman Aaron Johnson, who didn't even make the season-opening roster, is tied for second in the NHL in plus/minus at plus-11. Only Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin (plus-17) rates higher.

Versteeg, Khabibulin lead Blackhawks past Stars Kris Versteeg scored the tiebreaking power-play goal with 30 seconds left in the second period, and Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 31 shots to help the Blackhawks beat the Dallas Stars 6-3 on Thursday night. Patrick Kane had a pair of goals for the Blackhawks, who had lost three of their previous four, and Martin Havlat, Ben Eager and Brian Campbell added goals.
